Innovative Calendar Mechanism - Intuitive and Fascinating

Instead of conventional sub-dials or specific dial inscriptions, the NT 14 cleverly integrates the calendar display into a classic dial design:

•    Date: The minute scale serves also as a date scale. Minute ‘1’ corresponds to the first day of the month, minute ‘31’ to the last. A second, gold-plated minute hand intuitively indicates the current date.

•    Month: An additional gold-plated hour hand points to the 12 Roman numerals, where ‘I’ stands for January, ‘II’ for February and so on.

•    Day of the week: A discreet window display below the center of the dial shows the current day of the week.

At midnight, the date and day of the week change automatically, while a spectacular display of mechanical perfection unfolds at the end of the month: The date hand jumps back from ‘31’ to ‘1’, the month hand simultaneously advances to the following month and the weekday display is updated. Discreet correction pushers allow for easy adjustment of the calendar at any time.

Perfect Complement to the Calendar - Precise Month-Running Clockwork

The centerpiece of the NT 14 is a month running clockwork driven by a barrel and fusee. Instead of a chain, a highly flexible, 1 mm-thick stainless steel cable ensures consistent power transmission from the barrel to the fusee. The polished and gold-plated clockwork has been designed for longevity and the complex calendar mechanism is skilfully concealed between the dial and clockwork. A heavy half-second compensation pendulum regulates the precise rate. The clockwork is mounted on four solid, artistically crafted columns - some gold-plated, others silver-plated.

Aesthetics in Perfection - Materials and Design

The NT 14 is not only a technical masterpiece, but also an aesthetic statement. The base of the clock case is made of fine sapele mahogany with a high-gloss finish that emphasises its timeless elegance. Gold-plated, ornamented bronze inlays in the base and the hand-knurled bronze bezel add subtle, stylish accents. The clear lines and the use of five faceted glass panes offer an unobstructed view of the precisely crafted clockwork and allow the beauty of the mechanism to shine through in all its splendour.

A Dial with Depth and Character

The three-dimensional dial of the NT 14 fascinates with its artistic design and fine craftsmanship:

•    A satin-finished and gold-plated base dial bears the hand-engraved brand name and serial number.

•    The applied chapter ring and the slightly recessed sub-dial for the small seconds create an attractive visual depth. Both elements are also hand-engraved and silver-plated using the traditional rub-on method.

•    Breguet hands made of blued steel for the time display and gold-plated brass for the calendar display ensure perfect readability.

With the NT 14 table clock, you’ll experience the perfect fusion of traditional clockmaking and innovative mechanics - a masterpiece that not only measures time, but celebrates it.
